How Notifications Work in Procurement Sciences

How notifications work in Procurement Sciences and how to manage what you receive.

Written by Amber Wartenberg

Notifications keep you informed about activity that requires your attention in Procurement Sciences - such as being assigned work, updates to tasks you’re part of, and changes to teams you’re on or own. This article walks you through the notification inbox, how to manage individual and bulk notifications, how notifications behave across in-app and email, and how to configure your preferences.

Accessing your notifications

When notifications are enabled on your account, a notifications(bell) icon appears in the top right of your navigation bar. Click the bell icon to open your notification inbox.

Filtering your inbox

Your inbox includes filtering options so you can quickly find what you're looking for. You can sort notifications by:

  • All – All Notifications in your active inbox

  • Unread – Notifications you haven't opened yet

  • Archived – Notifications you've moved out of your active inbox that you can choose to ‘unarchive’.

Managing individual notifications

For each notification, you can:

  • View the associated item – Clicking a notification takes you directly to the relevant place in Procurement Sciences, such as a task within it’s opportunity or an opportunity team.

  • Archive – Move the notification out of your active inbox.

Bulk actions

To act on all notifications at once, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the notification interface. From there, you can:

  • Mark all notifications as read

  • Archive all notifications

  • Archive only notifications that have already been read

In-app and email notifications

Every notification type can reach you in two places, and both are on by default when notifications are enabled:

  • In-app – Delivered to your notification inbox under the bell icon.

  • Email – Sent to the email address on your account.

Email notifications aren’t available in self-hosted environments; if your organization is self-hosted, you’ll receive in-app notifications only.

For your security, email notifications keep details generic and don’t include opportunity names or other sensitive information. To see the specifics, click the link in the email to open the item directly in Procurement Sciences.

You will not be notified about actions you take yourself — notifications are only sent for activity by others that involves you.

Notification preferences

Open the preferences menu to control which notifications you receive. By default, all notification types are enabled for in-app and email when notifications are turned on for your account, but you can opt out of any type and channel at any time.

The table below lists every notification type currently available. All types are on by default for in-app and email; you can adjust any of them in your preferences.
