Here are the latest updates and bug fixes in the platform.

v2026.10.22-gd2867e8

Upload Files Directly to Chat

Need answers about a one-off document? You can now add files straight into a chat, no Datahub upload required. Bring in an amendment, a draft, or a teammate’s file and start asking questions right away.

  • Upload your way. Choose Upload files to this session from the + menu, or drag and drop a file into the chat.

  • Still need a Datahub file? Choose Attach files from Datahub in the + menu to pick from files you’ve already saved.

  • See what’s attached. The paperclip now groups your files under For this chat only and From Datahub.

Good to know: Chat-only files are permanently deleted after 90 days with no new messages in the chat, or right away if the chat is deleted.

Download entire folders from Files

Now available to all users: you can download folders, not just individual files, from the Files Dashboard. Select one or more folders (or a mix of folders and files) and click Download.

  • A single folder downloads as a .zip that keeps its subfolder structure.

  • If you select several items, they download together as one dated .zip.

  • Limits: up to 500 files per download. In Firefox and Safari, downloads are capped at 256 MB.

v2026.10.20-gaf22507

Whats New

A more powerful model that's a better fit for research tasks.

Deep Research now runs on GPT-5.6 Sol, a more powerful model built for research tasks. Expect stronger reasoning, better web searches, and more thorough, detailed reports on agency spending, competitors, expiring contracts, and market landscapes.

You can also follow along as it works. A new Research Timeline inside the Deep Research card shows each step as it happens, including USA Spending lookups, searches, source discovery, and analysis.

  • See your sources. Discovered web sources appear as compact tags. Click any tag to open the original page.

  • Pick up where you left off. Completed steps are saved with the message and reappear when you reopen the thread.

To try it: Open Chat, select Deep Research in the chat input, and submit your research prompt.

Gemini 4 Argon Now Available.

Gemini 4 Argon has been added to Awarded AI’s lineup of models. Select it from the model picker to put Google’s latest model to work on your capture, proposal, and business development tasks.

v2026.09.30-g8db3945

What's New

Turn citations on or off in Chat.
Chat now has a Citations toggle in the + menu. Switch it off and answers come without inline citations or footnotes, so content pastes cleanly into Word and your proposal documents with no line-by-line cleanup. Your choice is saved, so every new chat stays the way you left it. Citations stay on by default, and the toggle is more reliable than asking the agent to skip them.

Deep Research now uses your conversation, files, and Google Drive.
Deep Research now works with the same context as Chat. Start a run inside an existing thread and it builds on what you've already discussed, so you don't have to restate background. Attach files or turn on Google Drive to ground your report in your capture notes, past proposals, and internal documents alongside web sources, with clear attribution showing where each finding came from.

Note: Keep in mind for this Deep Research update, the AI will not use your Knowledge Base or Company Profile.

v2026.09.16-g99d4202

What's New

Better whole-file analysis on long documents. Chat can now read an attached file from beginning to end while maintaining a deeper analysis, so requests like "summarize this entire solicitation" come back fully polished. Attach the file and ask, and Awarded AI will pick the right approach to give you a full, in-depth analysis.

Legacy .doc file support is back.
You can once again upload and work with legacy Microsoft Word .doc files across the platform. Many government solicitation documents are still distributed in this older format, so .doc files now work the same as .docx . Upload, search, and use them in Workflows and Chat with no conversion step.

v2026.09.10-g17e4b30

What's New

Improved file search in Chat. Chat now searches your attached documents more thoroughly and can run follow-up searches when information is missing, so answers from large file sets are more complete and better cited. There's no change to how you attach or use files to benefit from this improvement.

Better continuity in long chats. Chat now better retains decisions and key details from earlier in long sessions through compacted summaries so you can have longer conversations without losing track of your goals.

v2026.08.27-g4c5852b

What's New

Better performance with Web Search on by default.
Awarded AI now searches the web automatically whenever current, real-world information would strengthen an answer.

With Web Search on, you get more accurate, up-to-date answers with cited sources. Previously, you had to know when to flip Web Search on. Now the AI reaches for the web whenever the question calls for it. Web Search also no longer ignores your chat history, so it factors in the context of your conversation to return more relevant results. You can also attach files while Web Search is on, so there's no need to toggle the setting on and off. You're still in control: turn it off anytime via the "+" button in the bottom-left corner of the chat, then deselect Web Search. The app will remember your preference.

It’s important to note, we provide web search and page reading through Google Vertex AI. Generative AI on Vertex AI has a FedRAMP® High authorization so you can access current public information while keeping your data under the same security controls used throughout the application. Learn more here.

Context usage indicator.
Track your chat model’s context limit in your current thread to better maintain your chat’s performance. You’ll see a note in your chat when you hit 50% of the limit, with a gentle heads-up at 70% and 85% so you know when you should start a new chat.

Attached opportunity icon.
When you have an opportunity attached to your sources, a clear icon now appears in the chat input area to signal it so you’re always aware what context Awarded AI is pulling from. Click the icon to see what opportunity is in context, hover to preview, click to remove it, and be aware that the icon only shows when an opportunity is actually attached.

Bug Fixes

Opportunities are back.

There was an issue preventing some customers from being able to see opportunities in their pipelines. This has been resolved.

v2026.07.28-gf77da8f

What's New

Let Awarded AI choose the right model for the job.

Chat now defaults to a new “Auto” setting which automatically uses the model Awarded AI recommends for the work in front of you. It’s the easiest way to get strong results on everyday tasks without having to think about which model to pick.

To see which model is in use, hover over Auto in the dropdown, or hover over the model selector, and you will see the model currently powering your chat. Prefer to choose your own? You are always in control. Just open the model selector in chat and pick the model you prefer.

Create a prompt or assistant just by describing what you want.

Building a prompt or assistant you can save has never been easier. The Prompt Perfector experience you already rely on now also lives in the full Prompt and Assistant libraries, making it faster for anyone on your team to create high quality prompts and assistants worth reusing.

Open the New Prompt or New Assistant modal, describe what you want it to do in plain language, and Awarded AI fills in the rest.

And if you need to adjust the results, you can edit your description and regenerate, or refine any field directly.

v2026.07.09-g181554d

What's New

Use voice-to-text seamlessly from chat

Tap the mic in chat and start speaking right away. Hit the check mark and the text drops straight into the composer. Recordings run up to five minutes and background noise filtering is better for everyone thanks to Gemini 2.5 Flash.

This voice enhancement is available for customers on all environments, including FedRAMP.

v2026.07.01-g0d45ad1

What's New

Navigation refresh and a simpler Sources Panel

We have rolled out a refreshed navigation experience across Awarded AI, along with a simpler Sources panel. Together they give you a cleaner interface, a more organized menu, and an easier way to move between your tools.

  • A cleaner, lighter header. The global header now uses a light background that sits flush with the rest of the app, keeping the focus on your work.

  • A streamlined search experience. The always-open search field is now a compact Search button, reclaiming space at the top of the screen and opening a faster, click-to-search experience.

  • A refreshed side navigation. Navigation items have updated spacing, icons, and hover states, with dividers that group related destinations so the menu is easier to scan.

  • Logical groupings for your tools. The side navigation is now organized into clear sections: workspace tools (Chat, Draft, Review, Workflows), pipeline tools (Bid Search, Pipeline), data tools (Contacts, Datahub), and Reports.

  • Sub-sections that expand in place. Sections like Contacts and Datahub now expand inline instead of opening a separate panel, so children such as Files, Integrations, and Knowledge Base stay visible while you browse.

  • Your profile and account, relocated. Your account and profile have moved from the top-right of the header to the bottom of the side navigation, grouped alongside Live Support. The profile menu now also includes Help and Support.

  • A collapsible nav, carried forward. You can still collapse the left navigation into an icon-only rail to free up screen space.

  • A simpler Sources panel. Previously accessible through four buttons, the Sources panel now opens from a single button that houses all the same features. Sources, Opportunities, Notes, Tasks, and Files are now persistent, so the tools you rely on are always in the same place.

v2026.06.26-g0bff45c

What's New

In-app and email notifications for opportunity tasks

We have rebuilt our notification system on our own FedRAMP compliant infrastructure, giving you more reliable alerts about the work that matters most. To start, we are turning on notifications for the two core opportunity task types, with more notification types on the way.

What this means for you:

  • If you are a Commercial Cloud customer, you will see a refreshed notification experience, now with the option to receive these alerts by email for the first time.

  • If you are a FedRAMP customer, these notifications are brand new. You can receive them both in the app and by email.

  • If you are a self-hosted customer, these notifications are also brand new and will be delivered as in-app alerts.

This is the first step in a broader rollout. We are actively expanding the set of notification types based on your requests, so you can stay on top of opportunities without checking back manually. Learn more about Notifications in this help article.

Bug Fixes

  • Opportunity Fit Scores Opportunity Fit Scores were not automatically showing up for some users. We've fixed it so you'll see automated scores as expected and can find what you need effortlessly.

v2026.06.17-ga2abd93

Bug Fixes

NAICs codes fully editable in Company Profile for better customization. Users were unable to add or update NAICS codes in the Company Profile section of the Knowledge Base. This has been resolved.

v.2026.06.09-gd31a0e4

What's New

Enhanced Prompt and Assistant Libraries

We've updated the Prompt and Assistant Libraries to improve how teams organize, discover, and manage personal, shared, and global prompts and assistants. Get the best of our prompt and assistant libraries with fewer steps. Check out a few more of the updates below.

  • New categories to make prompt and assistant discovery and management easier

  • Category-based prompt and assistant browsing

  • Enhanced search and filtering experience

  • Easier management of shared prompts and assistants

  • Quick edit prompts moved into the Prompt Library under new Quick Edits category

  • Personas moved into the Assistant Library under new Personas category

Shared Prompts Are Now Unique per Division Shared prompts are now scoped to individual divisions, so teams in different divisions see only the prompts relevant to them rather than a shared list across the entire organization.

Bug Fixes

Acronym Assistant Workflow Accuracy Improved. The Acronym Assistant workflow was missing some acronyms and incorrectly identifying others in certain documents. Detection accuracy has been improved.

v.2026.06.01-gbf219e5

What's New

Opportunity Fit Score Made Easy

The new Opportunity Fit Score feature now scores opportunities against your company based on your Company Profile and Past Performance on a daily basis within Bid Search. Staying up to speed on the best opportunities to pursue for your business has never been easier.

More details on the update:

  • Get newly scored opportunities every 24 hours, pulled from your Default Saved Search and shaped with Procurement Sciences' powerful Bid Search filters (up to 25 opportunities scored per person, per night)

  • Each opportunity is scored out of 100 across five criteria: Technical Capability, Customer Relationship, Meet Certification Requirements, Past Performance, and Strategic Alignment

  • Score on demand at any time by clicking the question mark icon next to any opportunity in Bid Search

  • View all opportunity details and fit scores in one place for easy management, tracking, and comparison

  • Instantly see per-criterion rationales and the requirement checklist by hovering over an opportunity

  • Scores are saved at the tenant level, so scores generated by teammates are visible to you as well

  • Currently scoped to Federal opportunities. SLED and GSA eBuy opportunities don't receive automated nightly scores, but you can still generate on-demand scores for them by clicking the question mark icon.

How a score is calculated:

Each of the five criteria is scored from 1 to 10, and the overall score is the sum × 2 (out of 100). Score ranges:

  • 80–100 (High Fit) Strong alignment across most criteria. Worth prioritizing.

  • 40–79 (Mid Fit) Partial alignment. Review the per-criterion rationales before deciding.

  • 1–39 (Low Fit) Limited alignment. Likely safe to skip unless a rationale flags something worth a second look.

How to use this feature:

  • Ensure your preferred saved search is set as the default because it's the search used for all automated nightly scoring

  • Keep your Company Profile and Past Performance entries current. The score accuracy depends on it (note: these are editable by Super Admins and Admins)

One important note: Fit Score evaluates the opportunity description and metadata only. It does not read attached files on a notice. If a key requirement lives only in an attachment, it won't influence the score. Always review the per-criterion rationales before making a pursuit decision.

Notifications for Commercial Cloud Customers

We’ve added notifications for Commercial Cloud customers. Users will now receive notifications when a task is assigned to them or when it is completed. You can learn more about notifications here.

Filter GSA eBuy Opportunities by Agency

You can now narrow your GSA eBuy search results by specific agency, making it faster to find the opportunities most relevant to your business. Instead of sorting through listings across all agencies, simply apply the agency filter to focus your search and surface the right opportunities sooner.

v.2026.05.13-gebf0289

What's New

Roles and Permissions are Now Available for All Cloud Environments

We've expanded Roles and Permissions to all cloud-hosted customers. From Super Admin, Admin, and User, these new roles give teams better governance over shared resources, accessible through a new Admin Panel in the left-hand nav.

  • Super Admins manage access levels for all roles across divisions.

  • Admins easily control who creates and modifies Shared Prompts, Assistants, Knowledge Categories, and SharePoint syncs.

  • Users maintain full access to view and use these resources.

Users will no longer be able to create or modify some shared resources to prevent accidental edits to organization-wide assets and establish clear ownership. Learn more about each role here.

Access Control for Opportunities is Live

We've rolled out Access Control for Opportunities to all cloud-hosted environments. This new layer of governance helps you protect sensitive bid information by ensuring only the right people have visibility into each Opportunity.

  • Only users explicitly added to an Opportunity can view or edit it. Team members can be granted full or partial access.

  • Access is managed through the Team tab on each Opportunity, the same tab you use today to assign team members.

  • Super Admins, Admins, Opportunity Owners, and team members with full access can add or remove members and adjust permissions at any time.

  • Anyone already listed on an Opportunity's Team kept their access automatically when the feature went live, so there's no disruption to active work.

  • Super Admins and Admins always retain full access to every Opportunity in your organization, and Opportunity Owners always retain full access to Opportunities they own.

Team Role assignments (such as Compliance Specialist) remain optional labels and don't affect access. Access is granted simply by being on the Team. Learn more about Access Control for Opportunities here.

v.2026.05.12-g33bb4db

Stay in the Loop with Real-Time Notifications for Commercial Cloud

You can now receive notifications to keep your work moving. Commercial clients will get notified on daily opportunity matches based on their saved search, as well as when tasks are assigned to them or completed. Task notifications also support email opt-in, so you can stay on top of your pipeline from wherever you're working.

Please Note: While notifications are now available for our Commercial Cloud environment, they will be live for Government Cloud and FedRAMP environments soon.

Bug Fixes

  • AI Workflow Reliability Improvements. Workflows including the RFx/Grant Analyzer and Acronym Extractor run smoothly when XLSX files are uploaded, and workflows no longer fail unexpectedly after file upload.

  • Agent Chat Deep Research Toggle. The Deep Research toggle in Agent Chat on Opportunity pages is now working as expected.

v.2026.05.07-gde2eb43

What's New

Share Agent Chat Threads Instantly. Collaboration just got easier. You can now share a direct link to any agent chat thread with a teammate, no opportunity required. Whether you're mid-analysis or want a second opinion on an AI conversation, your work is one link away.

Help Center Access Within FedRAMP Environments. FedRAMP users can now reach help.procurementsciences.com directly from within the app. Get answers and support faster, without ever leaving your environment.

Bug Fixes

  • RFx/Grant Analyzer Now Works with Excel Files. The RFx/Grant Analyzer was silently failing on XLSX uploads while showing a completed status. Both the failure and the inaccurate status indicator have been resolved, so you can trust your workflow results.

  • AI Workflows No Longer Get Stuck. Certain workflows were getting caught in a loop and hanging indefinitely. We have added automatic detection and recovery so your workflows complete as expected.

  • Excel File Parsing Restored. Certain Excel files were failing to process correctly. Parsing has been restored across all supported file formats.

  • Favoriting Prompts in the Prompt Library Now Works. An error was preventing users from saving prompts as favorites. You can now build and access your saved prompt library without issue.

  • Move Modal Now Shows All Folders. When moving a file, the full list of destination folders is now displayed so you can always move files to the right place.

  • Consistent Filtering Across Search and Files. Division filters in global search and the files table were behaving differently, leading to unexpected results. Both now filter consistently so what you see matches what you expect.

  • Support Button Always Visible. The Support button in the sidebar was being cut off on smaller screens. It is now always accessible regardless of your screen size.

v.2026.04.23-g14bc674

What's New

Rearranging Live Chat and Help
We got wind that while the button to access live chat for support on the bottom right was helpful, it also had a tendency to interfere with blocking UI on the screen. To be more intentional without getting in the way, we moved said button to the navigation side. We're still only a click away, we're just not IN the way anymore.

We also took the opportunity to move the Help icon higher in the sidebar, bringing it closer to the rest of your navigation tools where it belongs.

GPT-5.2 for Commercial Cloud

GPT-5.2 is now the default model for Commercial Cloud customers. Expect noticeably stronger performance from this default model.

v.2026.04.21-g7c1f32f

What's New

New Roles and Permissions have Arrived for Commercial Cloud

We've introduced Roles and Permissions to our Commercial Cloud customers. From Super Admin, Admin, and User, these new roles give teams better governance over shared resources.

  • Super Admins manage access levels for all roles.

Please Note: While these new roles are now available for our Commercial Cloud environment, they will be live for Government Cloud and FedRAMP environments soon.

GPT-5.1 for Government Cloud

Government Cloud customers now have access to GPT-5.1. Expect noticeably stronger performance across complex research, proposal writing, and analysis tasks where the quality of AI output matters most.

v.2026.04.20-gbcd52ae

Bug Fixes

  • Copy Button Now Preserves Chat Formatting. The copy button in AI Chat now copies content with its original formatting intact, including headings, bold text, and structure. Previously, copying produced plain text that stripped all formatting, making it difficult to reuse AI-generated content in win plans or other documents.

  • Send to AI Draft No Longer Overwrites Existing Content. Using the "Send to" action from AI Chat to push content into an AI Draft now appends or inserts the content correctly, rather than replacing everything already in the draft. Previously, sending a table or other content from chat would overwrite the entire draft.

  • Attach Files Button Restored in AI Chat. The attach files (paperclip) button in the AI Chat input area was not responding to clicks after a recent accessibility cleanup. This has been fixed and file selection works as expected again.

  • Folders Can Now Be Attached to AI Chat. Attaching folders to an AI Chat session was previously disabled because the AI was not reading the files inside them. This has been resolved and folder attachments are now re-enabled. The AI correctly reads the contents of attached folders when responding.

  • File Upload in Opportunity Files Tab Fixed. Files uploaded through the Files tab within an Opportunity were getting stuck in an "Uploading" state and returning a server error. Uploads now complete successfully.

  • Incorrect File and Folder Conflict Detection Fixed. The platform was incorrectly flagging file and folder name conflicts in some cases where no real conflict existed. Conflict detection now behaves accurately.

  • Folder Attachment to Chat and Workflows Fixed. Folders attached to chat sessions and workflows were not providing the AI with the contents of files inside them. This has been corrected and the AI now receives full context from attached folders.

  • Folder Attachment in Workflows Fixed. Attaching folders within workflow steps was not working correctly. Folder attachments in workflows now function as expected.

v.2026.04.10-g00e334d

What's New

More Agentic Deep Research Templates New pre-built research templates are now available for proposal writers, giving teams a faster starting point for bid research and reducing the time spent building research workflows from scratch. Here is a quick look at the new agentic templates:

  • Build Ghost Themes. Research competitor vulnerabilities and generate indirect proposal language that highlights weaknesses without naming names.

  • Find Customer Pain Points. Surface documented agency frustrations from GAO reports, IG audits, congressional testimony, and leadership statements.

  • Research Incumbent's Proposal Strategy. Predict what the incumbent will claim and get recommended counter-positioning for each of their strengths.

  • Analyze Customer Risk Concerns. Research an agency's specific history of failures and audits to produce a risk language bank grounded in real concerns.

  • Understand Evaluator Priorities. Research who evaluates proposals at a specific agency and what they actually care about when scoring.

Learn more in this product updates blog post or see it for yourself by opening the Deep Research dropdown, click Ask Anything, and select a template in the Proposal category.

ICYMI: Google Drive Integration. Users can now connect a Google Drive account to Awarded AI and reference Drive files directly in chat. The integration reads files live from Google's API, no file uploading required. Learn how to set it up here.

Bug Fixes

  • Full Search. Google Drive file search now surfaces results across your full library, removing previous limitations.

  • Faster Loading. The Attach Chat to Opportunity modal loads faster and now reliably returns the opportunities you are looking for.

  • No More Duplicates. Knowledge category names now update correctly everywhere after duplicating and renaming, keeping your workspace organized.

  • Find Opportunities Easier. Manual and SAM opportunities now appear in global header search, making it easier to find any opportunity from anywhere in the platform.

  • Fixed Filtering. Filtering opportunities by NAICS codes works reliably again after an error was preventing results from loading.

  • Less Limits. The AI Agent can now search large folders without hitting a query limit error.

  • Better UI in Sources. The sources loading spinner no longer blocks the full page, so you can keep working while sources load in the background.

  • Draft Fix. Draft names in the web-scraper workflow now save and display correctly.

  • Agnostic RFIs. 15-Minute RFIs can now be completed successfully across all AI models.

  • Win Strategy Issues Resolved. The Win Strategy Generator is fully operational again after a routing issue in production was resolved.

v.1.114.0 - v1.116.0

What's New

  • Google Drive Integration. Users can now connect a Google Drive account to Awarded AI and reference Drive files directly in chat. The integration reads files live from Google's API, no file uploading required. Learn how to set it up here.

  • AI Model Upgrade: Gemini 3.1 Pro. We've added Gemini 3.1 Pro for improved accuracy and performance across AI-assisted features.

Bug Fixes

  • Removed 'Enabled Sources' Toggle. The 'Enabled Sources' toggle has been removed from the interface to streamline the configuration experience.Ctrl+A in File Viewer. Pressing Ctrl+A in the file viewer now correctly selects only the open document's content, rather than all text on the page.

  • Multi-File Selection Under Opportunity Data. Users can now select multiple files in the Opportunity Data section as expected.

  • Pagination Count in My Files. The file count shown in pagination on the My Files screen now accurately reflects the true number of files.

  • Kanban Board Permission Loading. The Kanban board no longer allows restricted actions while permissions are still loading.

  • AI Analysis File Count. AI Analysis now accurately reflects the number of attached files included in the analysis.

  • Attachment References in AI Draft Agent. Attachment references are now properly preserved and resolved within the AI draft agent.

  • Knowledge Base: Duplicating Company Profiles. Duplicating a company profile in the knowledge base no longer causes data issues between the original and the copy.

  • Sources Panel 'Select All' Checkbox. The top-level 'Select All' checkbox in the Sources Panel inside the configuration for each individual knowledge category now correctly reflects selection state when toggling a knowledge category.

  • Bid Search Agency Filter Duplicates. The agency filter in Bid Search no longer shows duplicate entries.

  • Compliance Matrix Saved to Correct Folder. Generated Compliance Matrix files are now saved to the correct directory.

  • Transcription in AI Chat. The transcription feature in AI Chat was returning an error and has been resolved.

v.1.108.0 - v1.113.0

We shipped a number of new capabilities and reliability improvements this week. Here's what's new for your team.

What's New

Full Citations When Copying AI Responses. When you copy a message from AI Chat, citation references are now included in full — with the quoted text and source filename — instead of being stripped out. This means you can paste AI output directly into Word documents and other tools without having to manually reconstruct each source reference

Bug Fixes

AI Chat & Sessions

  • The "New Session" button is no longer obscured. A z-index issue caused the side panel to be covered by the main chat page when creating a new session. The button is now always accessible
Chat history is reliably accessible. In some cases, the left-hand chat history panel stopped showing previous conversations, displaying only Projects. Your full chat history is now always visible

Opportunity Pipeline

  • Contact information on pipeline opportunities from Bid Search is now editable. You can now update contact information within opportunities

  • Opportunities now appear in the "Attach to Opportunity" window. When attaching an AI chat session to an opportunity, the selection window was showing "No Opportunities Found" even when opportunities existed. The list now populates correctly

v1.97.0 - v1.107.0

  • Pipeline Export now configurable. You can now select exactly which fields are included when exporting your Opportunity Pipeline, giving you control over the data you share

  • Full tag text now visible in List View. Tags on opportunities in the Pipeline list view are no longer truncated, so you can see complete tag names at a glance

  • Pipeline Funnel Chart redesigned. The Opportunities by Stage funnel chart in Reports has been improved with a cleaner, more informative design that makes it easier to visualize your pipeline health

AI Chat

  • Quick Edit: highlight-to-add-context feature. Redesigned Quick Edit buttons allow you to highlight text within a chat session to add it to context, with quick edit actions operating on the highlighted content for more precise control

  • AI session attachment to opportunity visible again. Attaching an existing AI session to an opportunity is now correctly accessible and visible, restoring this important workflow connection

Bug Fixes

Bid Search & Pipeline

  • GSA eBuy opportunity names now persist. Renaming a GSA eBuy opportunity in Pipeline now correctly saves the new name after a page refresh, preventing lost updates
