How to Set Up a Saved Search in Bid Search
A Saved Search lets you store a set of filters in Bid Search so you don't have to reapply them every time. More importantly, setting a Saved Search as your default is what powers the Automated Opportunity Fit Score feature, so getting this set up correctly is an important first step.
Step 1: Open Filters in Bid Search
Navigate to Bid Search and click Filters to open the filter panel. This is where you'll define the criteria that shape your search.
Step 2: Apply Your Filters
You can filter opportunities by a range of criteria, including:
NAICS Codes — Filter by one or more industry codes relevant to your business
Agency — Narrow results to specific government agencies
Posting Date / Due Date — Limit opportunities by timeline
Set-Aside Code — Filter for small business set-asides and other designations
Notice Type — Specify the type of contracting notice
Example: To filter for Custom Computer Programming Services and Management Consulting, navigate to NAICS Codes, search for and select 541511 and 541611, then apply the filter. Your results will immediately narrow to only opportunities within those codes.
Apply as many or as few filters as you need to match your business focus. You can always edit your saved search later.
Step 3: Save Your Search
Once your filters are set, click Save. Give your search a clear, descriptive name so it's easy to identify later (for example, naming it after the agency focus). Then click Save to confirm.
Step 4: Set Your Search as Default
Go to Saved Searches to view all the searches you've created. Find the one you just saved, click the kebab menu (the three-dot icon), and select Save as Default.
Setting a search as your default means two things:
That search's filters will be automatically applied every time you open Bid Search
It will be the search used for all Automated Opportunity Fit Scoring against Federal opportunities — the platform will score up to 25 new or updated matching opportunities per person every 24 hours against your Company Profile and Past Performance
Step 5: Score Opportunities On Demand (Optional)
For opportunities that already exist in the system and match your saved search criteria — or for SLED and GSA eBuy opportunities, which aren't included in automated nightly scoring — click the question mark icon next to any opportunity in Bid Search to generate a Fit Score immediately. New Federal opportunities going forward will be scored automatically each night.
Once a score exists, hover over any opportunity to see a breakdown across Technical Capability, Customer Relationship, Meet Certification Requirements, Past Performance, and Strategic Alignment — along with the per-criterion rationales and the requirement checklist extracted from the notice.
A Note on Score Visibility
Fit Scores are saved at the tenant level. If a teammate scores an opportunity (or it appears in their Default Saved Search), that score will be visible to you as well — and vice versa.
Before You Go: Make Sure Your Profile Is Complete
Fit Scores are only as useful as the data behind them. Before relying on your scores, make sure the following are filled out in the Data Hub under Knowledge Base:
Company Profile — Your organization's foundational profile on the Procurement Sciences platform (capabilities, NAICS, certifications, facility clearances, strategy).
Past Performance — Used alongside your Company Profile to determine how well each opportunity aligns with your experience. You can add multiple past performance entries by duplicating the template.
Both categories are editable only by Super Admins and Admins on your account. If you're not an admin, coordinate with whoever holds that role at your organization to keep these entries current.
Important: Fit Score evaluates the notice description and metadata only — it does not read attached files (PDFs, Word docs, etc.). If key requirements live only in attachments, they won't be reflected in the score. Always check the per-criterion rationales before making a pursuit decision.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many saved searches can I create?
You can create multiple saved searches to cover different focus areas — for example, one per agency or NAICS group. However, only one can be set as your default at a time, and that default is what drives automated Fit Scoring.
Can I change my default saved search later?
Yes. Go to Saved Searches, open the kebab menu on any saved search, and select Save as Default. Your new default will be used starting with the next nightly Fit Score refresh.
What happens to my Fit Scores if I update my default saved search?
Going forward, new opportunities will be scored against your updated search criteria. Previously scored opportunities won't be retroactively removed, but you can use the question mark icon to regenerate scores for existing notices under your new criteria.
Can I edit a saved search after I've created it?
Yes. Apply your updated filters in Bid Search and save them, either as a new search or by overwriting an existing one. If you change your default, Fit Scoring will use the updated criteria on the next refresh.
Who should fill out the Company Profile and Past Performance?
Both categories in the Knowledge Base are editable only by Super Admins and Admins on your account. If you're unsure who holds that role at your organization, reach out to your account administrator.
Can I add more than one Past Performance entry?
Yes. You can duplicate the Past Performance template to add multiple entries. The more complete your past performance history, the more accurate your Fit Scores will be.
Why aren't I seeing Fit Scores on my opportunities?
Make sure you have a default saved search set and that your Company Profile and Past Performance are filled out. If both are in place and you still aren't seeing scores on existing notices, click the question mark icon on any opportunity to score it on demand. New notices going forward will be scored automatically each night.
